1. What LinkUp 234 is. A free-to-play story game set in Lagos, played like WhatsApp. Stories, characters, brands and businesses in the game are fictional or parody. Nothing in the game is real advice (money, health, legal or relationship).
2. Who can play. LinkUp 234 accounts are for adults: you must be 18 or older to create an account, claim a @handle, save your story or play with others. We close any account we learn belongs to someone under 18 and delete its data.
3. Your account. You can play the first episodes without an account. To keep going you create one: first a @handle and a yes/no on whether you're 18+, then your last name, date of birth and email (we send a code; there's no password). Your date of birth must be true; it decides what you can see, and you can't change it later except to fix an obvious mistake through support. Keep your email safe: whoever controls it controls the account. One person, one account.
4. Handles. Your @handle is public in the game. Handles must not impersonate a real person, brand or public figure, or mislead others. Some handles are reserved. If you claim a handle but don't save your account with an email within 30 days of claiming it, the handle is released for others. We may change a handle that breaks these rules.
5. Playing with other people (LinkUp Live). You can invite people to play an Outing with you. Players pick from options; there's no free typing between players. Be kind, use report and block, and follow the Community Guidelines.
6. It's free. There are no purchases in early access. Gems and other in-game items have no money value, can't be bought, sold or cashed out, and may change. If we ever add paid features, we'll update these terms first.
7. Ads and brands. The game shows in-game ads and simulated notifications (bank alerts, rides, food). They are part of the story; no real money moves. Brand names are parody unless marked as a real sponsor. Tapping a real sponsor's link takes you to their site and their terms.
8. AI characters. Some replies from characters are written by AI in real time. They can be wrong, odd or off-tone; they're fiction. Don't share private information with characters.
9. What's not allowed. Breaking the Community Guidelines, cheating or exploiting bugs, scraping or automating the game, attacking our systems, selling accounts or handles, or using the game for anything illegal.
10. What we can do. We can mute, suspend or close accounts that break the rules, remove content, and change or end features. We'll tell you why where we can.
11. Your stuff and ours. You keep the rights to anything original you create; you let us show it inside the game. The game, its stories, art and code are ours.
12. No guarantees. Early access means things will change and sometimes break. We provide the game as it is. To the extent the law allows, we're not liable for indirect or consequential losses. Nothing in these terms limits rights you have under Nigerian consumer law that can't be excluded.
12a. Your responsibility. You're responsible for losses caused by your own unlawful use of LinkUp 234, fraud through your account, or a serious breach of these terms. This doesn't apply where the loss was caused by us.
13. Changes and ending. We may update these terms; we'll show a notice in the game for big changes. You can delete your account at any time in Account.
14. Law. These terms are governed by the laws of the Federal Republic of Nigeria. If something goes wrong, talk to us first at holla@linkup234.com and we'll try to sort it out. A dispute we can't resolve may go to a court of competent jurisdiction in Nigeria, subject to your rights under consumer law.
